Guided Tour
Pride Ride

Get on a bicycle and explore historic homes, community gathering spaces and public art that memorializes and celebrates the LGBTQI+ Community in Central San Diego.

The Tour

We start at Hillcrest Pride Flag, a gathering space that was erected to pay homage to the struggle and resilience of the LGBTQI+ community.

From there it's a 10-mile guided bike ride through University Heights, North Park and Balboa Park, with an opportunity to hear from guest speakers about former venues, public art, and historic sites of community activism.

The ride ends back in Hillcrest, San Diego's "gayborhood," where attendees are welcome to sit down for a snack and learn more about how this area has developed in the last 100 years. On September 8 at 5 p.m. we’ll be sharing a virtual Pride Ride route preview on YouTube Live.

Please reach out to [email protected] about discounts for students, seniors, and members of the LGBTQI+ community.

About the host

San Diego Bicycle Coalition

The San Diego County Bicycle Coalition is a non-profit organization that advocates for and protects the rights of all people who ride bicycles. We promote bicycling as a mainstream, safe, and enjoyable form of transportation and recreation.

Since 1987, we have acted as a voice for bicyclists in the region. We conduct educational programs, promote awareness of bicyclists and bicycling issues, review infrastructure improvements, and act as a voice for bicyclists to elected officials and decision makers all over San Diego County.
