After 40 years in operation in San Diego, Nissan Design America (NDA), has more than delivered on its original mission to provide a local perspective on the North American market and generate innovative ideas and design for both Nissan and INFINITI brands. Today NDA is a full-service design studio capable of handling all phases of automotive design development, from exploratory to production. NDA designs vehicles with emphasis on the Americas region with sensitivity for the global market, in close collaboration with its counterparts at Nissan Global Design Center in Atsugi, Japan, and Nissan Technical Centers in Japan and North America. NDA is a division of Nissan North America, Inc.

Car Design 101 – Tour inside Nissan’s design studio
Join us for a glimpse into a highly confidential studio where future Nissan and INFINITI vehicles are designed. If you are a student and interested in how cars are designed – from concept sketches to virtual / physical models – NDA’s program will offer incredible opportunities to learn about the automotive design process and approach, as well as skills needed to become a designer. The program includes in-person tours of the studio, demonstrations of key design processes (sketching, digital and clay modeling, VR reviews, etc.) and hands-on experiences.
Open to Grades 5 and up.
Due to the nature of the program, participation is limited to 46 total. One adult chaperone may reserve a ticket to join one or more students in Grades 5-8.
Students grades 9 and up will attend without chaperones.
Admission is free, but each participant will be asked to bring at least one sketch drawing of your dream car to share!
