Ron Miriello is a designer, artist, and Italophile based in San Diego and Radicondoli, Italy. He frequently focuses on personal or community events that use design-thinking to align unrelated arenas to find new meaning…or at least to find new fun. His recent projects include the 100 Worlds Project, Soviet Poster Show, and the 3 Italian Steel Bicycles exhibit at Quint Gallery. Interest in the bicycle, community, San Diego, Italy, and design have culminated in this latest event for San Diego Design Week 2021.

Join an urban bicycle tour to see our city from the slower pace of your trusted bicycle. We’ll visit select locations of design, cultural, and historical interest that are often overlooked when driving. The 2021 Design Discoveries Bike Tour will build on the great success of the 2020 Design Week ride, focusing on three to four new locations of interest to a design-centric audience eager to better understand their city and open to new connections to people and place.
The tour is limited to the first 35 to register and will require a bicycle, a helmet, and an open mind. The short bike tour will be led by Ron Miriello, with logistical support from the San Diego Bicycle Coalition. You do not need to be an experienced cyclist. Food can be purchased in Barrio Logan or East Village at the conclusion of the tour. Total time anticipated: 3 hours.
Sites will include
