Murals of La Jolla was founded by the La Jolla Community Foundation in 2010 and is now a project of the Athenaeum Music & Arts Library. The goal of the mural project is to enhance the civic character of the community by commissioning public art projects on private property throughout La Jolla. An Advisory Committee, composed of the heads of La Jolla's major visual arts organizations, invites an international roster of artists to create new artworks, all located on private property and privately funded.

About the tour
Join fellow art enthusiasts and learn more about the artists and their artworks during a 1.5-hour guided walking tour. The tours are free and online registration is required. 15 murals are currently on view, and each tour features more than half of these. The tours leave from the Athenaeum and the route changes to accommodate new murals. It is a gentle walk around the village, but we ask participants to please wear comfortable shoes. Participants in the tour are responsible for their own safety. All ages welcome.
