Murals of La Jolla was founded by the La Jolla Community Foundation in 2010 and is now a project of the Athenaeum Music & Arts Library. The goal of the mural project is to enhance the civic character of the community by commissioning public art projects on private property throughout La Jolla. An Advisory Committee, composed of the heads of La Jolla's major visual arts organizations, invites an international roster of artists to create new artworks, all located on private property and privately funded.
